Map Data — Sourcing & Honesty Notes
This live map covers the 22 Dholera SIR villages, the 7 LADA (Lothal Area Development Authority) villages, the Lothal archaeological site / Ahmedabad–Dholera–Lothal corridor, and surrounding villages within roughly a 20–25 km radius.
Where the coordinates come from
Our research explicitly left village coordinates blank in the raw dataset, because no official cadastral or Gazette source with coordinates could be located (an earlier automated draft had fabricated coordinates — we discarded it). Every point shown here is pulled live from the OpenStreetMap Nominatim & Overpass APIs — a community-mapped, publicly auditable, reproducible source (ODbL license). This is explicitly Tier 2 (community/public database, not government-issued), labeled as such on every marker.
Known gaps — reported honestly, not hidden
- warningThe 22 SIR villages list was corrected 2026-08-28 (see research notes): Chandarva, Bhirajpur, Kariyad, Kamatalav, Kasindra were incorrectly added to SIR by an earlier fix based on a single unverified source; they have been removed/reclassified. Panchi, Rahtalav, Sandhida, Sangasar, Sodhi, Zankhi are restored, confirmed by 5 independent sources (Gujarat Govt Gazette citation, DSIRDA annual reports, an academic policy report, and two independent due-diligence guides).
- warning2 of the now-8 LADA rows (Samani, Jawaraj) are confirmed real villages via Census 2011 but have no geocoded coordinate in any source checked — they are not on the map yet. Bagodara, Dhingda, Memar were removed from LADA (confirmed to be in Bavla Taluka, not Dholka Taluka where the 7 officially-announced LADA villages sit).
- warningMithapar, Velavadar (previously listed as OUTSIDE villages) were deactivated 2026-08-28 — could not verify either is a real village adjoining Dholera SIR, as distinct from the same-named Velavadar Blackbuck National Park (~20km away, Bhavnagar district) or real-estate marketing brand names.
- warningThe Dholera Taluka boundary shown is OSM's administrative tagging only — it has not been cross-verified against Gujarat Revenue Department records. OSM itself is internally inconsistent on this point (Rojka tags under "Dhandhuka Taluka" while Dholera town tags under "Dholera Taluka").
- warningNone of these points should replace AnyROR / official record verification before any transaction.
Recent verified update — 2026-05-13
- trainOn 2026-05-13 the Union Cabinet approved the Ahmedabad (Sarkhej)–Dholera Semi High-Speed Double Line rail project — ₹20,667 Cr, top speed up to 220 kmph, projected travel time ~48 minutes. Source: Press Information Bureau (Tier 1, government-official) press release, cross-checked against Times of India reporting. Added to the Live Infra Tracker as "Cabinet Approved" — this is a distinct passenger corridor from the separate Bhimnath–Dholera Freight Rail Link, which remains excluded pending a confirmed alignment/DPR for that freight project specifically.
- infoOn 2025-11-21, a JBIC (Japan Bank for International Cooperation) delegation led by Governor Nobumitsu Hayashi reviewed Dholera SIR's semiconductor ecosystem and infrastructure progress. Source: PIB press release (PRID 2192601). Noted here for context; not yet added as a standalone tracker card since it is a review visit rather than a fundable infrastructure milestone.
Satellite Time Machine — per-year source releases
The historical satellite layer (2014–2026) on /map is built from Esri World Imagery Wayback — a public archive of dated releases of Esri's World Imagery basemap (the same source used for the live satellite view). For each calendar year, the latest Wayback release published that year is used; tiles are fetched directly and live from Esri (wayback.maptiles.arcgis.com, CORS-open, no credentials) — nothing is pre-rendered, cached, or composited by us. Esri's own per-release metadata "identify" endpoint was queried live for Dholera's exact coordinates (22.30, 72.20) to confirm the real underlying photo's capture date, resolution and source for every row below — not estimated or invented. Where that lookup had no footprint, or where consecutive years turned out to share the identical underlying photo (Esri had not re-flown the area between those releases), that is stated plainly in the Note column rather than hidden. Esri's Wayback archive only goes back to 2014-02-20, so no earlier years are offered.
